What is courage?

Courage is when you do something hard or scary because you believe it’s important.

Imagine you're at the top of a slide at the park. The slide is tall and goes all the way down, and you're not sure if it'll be fun or if you’ll get hurt. But even though your tummy feels wobbly, you take a deep breath and jump, that’s courage!

Like Bravery in Everyday Life

Sometimes courage isn’t about big things like heroes or dragons. It can be as simple as:

  • Raising your hand when you don’t know the answer.
  • Trying a new food even if it looks weird.
  • Saying “hi” to someone you don’t know.

Courage is Like a Big Step

Think of courage like taking one big step forward, even if you’re not sure what’s on the other side. It's like when you're about to start a new game with friends, you might feel nervous, but you still go ahead because you want to play.

You don’t have to be perfect or fearless, just brave enough to try.
