What is damage?

Damage is when something gets hurt because another thing pushes, pulls, or hits it really hard.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy car. If you run into a wall while driving it, the car might crumple a little, that’s damage! It's like when you fall and scrape your knee; the skin gets rough and red because something bumped into it.

What Causes Damage?

Sometimes, damage happens from just one big push or hit. That’s like if you jump on your toy car really hard, and it breaks in half, that’s sudden damage!

Other times, damage builds up slowly. Think about when you use a crayon to draw on paper over and over again. Eventually, the paper gets thin and might even tear, that's slow damage, like how your shoes wear out after walking all day.

How We Fix Damage

When something is damaged, we try to make it better again. If your toy car is broken, you might glue it back together or use another one. That’s like when you get a band-aid on a scrape, it helps the skin heal so you can keep playing!
