What is Digital Accessibility?

Digital Accessibility is about making sure everyone can use computers and phones, no matter what they need help with.

Imagine you have a favorite toy box, it's full of your favorite toys. But if the lid is too heavy for you to lift, or the toys are all tiny and hard to see, it might be harder for you to play with them. That’s kind of like digital accessibility, it helps make sure everyone can use digital tools, even if they have different needs.

Think of the internet as a big playground. Some kids can run fast, some need a slide that's easier to climb, and some might need a ramp instead of steps. Digital accessibility is like building ramps, adding handholds, or making sure everything is clearly colored, so every kid can play and have fun.

Sometimes people use special tools, like bigger letters on the screen, or they hear what’s on the computer through a speaker. These are ways to help everyone enjoy the same games, videos, and messages, just like how your toy box could have bigger toys or louder sounds if you need them.
