Election is when people choose their favorite leader by voting.
Imagine you and your friends are picking who will be the team captain for a game. Instead of just shouting out names, everyone gets to put a sticker on the name they like best. The person with the most stickers becomes the team captain. That’s what happens in an election, people use votes, which are like stickers, to choose their favorite leader.
How Voting Works
Each person gets one vote, and they can give it to anyone they want. It's like picking your favorite ice cream flavor, you get to decide!
Counting the Votes
After everyone has voted, the votes are counted. If someone has more votes than others, they win and become the leader. Just like if your friend gets the most stickers, they get to be team captain.
Sometimes people vote for different leaders in different places, like in a classroom or even a whole country, but it’s still just picking who you think will do the best job!
Examples
- In a school, students pick their favorite teacher as the best, that's like an election.
