What is Emergence? Chris Fields?

Emergence is when simple things come together to make something new and surprising, just like how building blocks can turn into a castle or a spaceship.

Imagine you have a bunch of tiny toy cars. Each one goes straight forward on its own, right? But if you put them all in a little track with curves and hills, they start doing cool things, maybe even racing each other! That’s emergence: the cars are still just tiny toy cars, but together, they do something much more interesting.

Chris Fields is like a teacher who helps us understand how this works. He shows us that even though each car is simple, when they're all moving together, you get something bigger, like a whole race!

So, emergence isn’t magic; it’s just simple things working together in a fun new way, kind of like your toy cars making a big, exciting track!
