How Florigen Works
Think of florigen like a postcard sent from the leaves to the rest of the plant. When days get longer in spring, the leaves make this postcard and send it down to the place where flowers grow. Once the message arrives, the plant knows it's time to put on its floral outfit, flowers start growing!
Florigen is Like a Timer
You can think of florigen like a timer inside the plant. When the leaves sense the right amount of sunlight (like how you know it’s time for dinner when the clock rings), they send out this signal to say, “It's flower time!” The rest of the plant gets ready and starts making flowers, just like you get ready for bed when your parents tell you it's bedtime.
