What is freelancing?

A freelancer is someone who does work for different people or companies, but isn’t tied to just one job.

Imagine you have a toy box full of blocks, and instead of only building one tower for one person, you build towers for everyone who asks. That’s like being a freelancer, you use your skills (like stacking blocks) for many different projects, and get paid each time.

A freelancer picks the jobs they want to do, when they want to do them, and how much they want to be paid. It's like choosing which games to play at recess, you pick what sounds fun and exciting.

Sometimes a freelancer works for just one person or company, but most of the time, they work for many different ones, just like you might draw pictures for your teacher, your friend, and even your mom on different days.
