What is gasoline?

Gasoline is like a special drink that makes cars go zoom!

Imagine you have a toy car that doesn’t move on its own, it needs something to push it forward, right? That’s what gasoline does for real cars. It's kind of like the energy inside your favorite snack, when you eat it, you get more energy to run around and play.

Gasoline is made from tiny pieces called molecules that come from big rocks deep underground. These rocks are called oil, and people dig them up and turn them into gasoline. Then, the gasoline goes inside a car’s tank, like filling up a water bottle, but instead of water, it's fuel! When you start the engine, it mixes with air and gets super hot, which makes the car move.

Without gasoline, your parents’ car would be stuck in the driveway, just like your toy car without batteries. So, gasoline is like a power helper for cars, it lets them zoom down the road to take you to the park or the store!
