What is harmony?

Harmony is when things work together smoothly and sound nice when they’re all playing at once.

Imagine you're at a playground with your friends, and everyone starts jumping rope at the same time, it's like a happy dance of movements. That’s harmony in action! Now think about music: when different instruments or voices play or sing together, and everything fits perfectly, that’s also harmony.

Think of your favorite song. If one person is singing too loud, or someone starts playing the drums out of time, it might feel messy, like when you're trying to build a tower with blocks, but someone keeps knocking it down! But if everyone does their part, the singer, the drummer, the guitar player, everything lines up nicely, and it sounds just right. That’s harmony in music.

You can also find harmony in everyday life. Like when you're eating a sandwich, bread, cheese, and ham all work together to make something tasty. If you add too much of one thing, it might not taste as good. But the right mix? That’s harmony!
