What is Human Trafficking?

Human trafficking is when people are forced to work or live somewhere against their will, like being taken from a familiar place and put into a hard situation.

Imagine you're playing in your favorite park, and suddenly someone takes you by the hand and walks you through a big, busy city until you're in a place you don't know. You can’t go back home, and you have to do things you don’t want to, like cleaning floors all day or staying up late. That’s kind of what happens to people who are trafficked.

It's like being stuck in a really long storybook where the ending isn't good. You might not be able to leave, and you have to keep doing hard things every day, just like having to stay in a classroom even when recess is over.

But sometimes people who are trafficked find ways to escape or get help from others, just like how a friend can help you if you're stuck in a game.
