Dusty vs Sparkly Rings
You probably think of Saturn’s rings as bright and shiny, like glitter scattered in the air. Jupiter’s rings are different. How Did These Rings Form?

Sometimes, these tiny rocks crash into each other or smash into the small moons that orbit close to Jupiter. When they hit, they shatter and create a cloud of fine dust. This dust spreads out over time to form the rings we see today.
