Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system, and it's like a giant ball of gas that’s way bigger than Earth.
Imagine you have a really big balloon, so big, it could hold all your toys inside. Now imagine that balloon was made of clouds and it had a lot of storms inside too. That’s kind of what Jupiter looks like! It has big swirls in its clouds, some even as big as Earth.
Jupiter is full of gas
Jupiter isn’t solid like Earth, it's mostly made up of hydrogen and helium, which are the same kinds of gases that are inside a balloon. If you could jump into Jupiter, you wouldn't land on a surface; instead, you'd just float through its thick clouds.
Jupiter has many moons
Jupiter also has lots of moons, more than any other planet! It’s like having a whole family of little planets orbiting around it. One of them, called Io, is so active with volcanoes that it's like a giant lava factory!
So Jupiter is like the biggest, cloudiest, most interesting giant in our solar system, and it has a whole bunch of little friends (its moons) going around it!

- Imagine having a giant brother who loves to play with the other planets in the solar system.
- Jupiter has spots on its surface, just like your skin when you have a breakout.
