Land is the big, solid place we walk on and grow our food in.
What Makes Up Land
Land is like a giant puzzle made up of soil, rocks, and sometimes water. When you dig into your garden or play with dirt in the sandbox, you're touching soil, it's like the ground’s soft blanket that helps plants grow. Beneath that, there are rocks, which are hard and rough, just like the stones you find on the beach.
How We Use Land
People use land for many things. Some parts of land have trees and grass, so we can play in parks or ride our bikes through forests. Other parts have buildings and roads, where we live and go to school. Farmers use land to grow fruits, vegetables, and grains, just like how you plant seeds in a pot and watch them become plants.
Land is like the Earth’s big, friendly floor, it holds everything together!
