What is March?

March is the third month of the year, and it’s when we count to three from January and February.

Imagine you have a big calendar in your room. January is like the first step you take when you start climbing a staircase, and February is the second step. Then March comes, it's the third step, and now you're halfway up the stairs!

Like a Bunch of Days

March has 31 days, just like July. That means there are plenty of days for playing outside, doing homework, or even having a special day called St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th, that's when some people wear green and pretend they're from Ireland.

March is Also a Season

March brings spring in many places. You might notice trees starting to grow leaves again, flowers popping up in gardens, and the days getting longer, like when you stay up later at night because it's brighter outside.

So next time you hear “March,” think of it as the third step on your yearly staircase, a little bit more grown-up than February but still fun!
