What is neuroanatomy?

Neuroanatomy is the study of how your brain and nerves are put together like a puzzle.

Imagine your body is like a robot, and your brain is the control center that tells every part what to do. Nerves are like the wires that connect this control center to all the other parts, your hands, legs, eyes, and even your stomach!

Like a Map of a City

Think of neuroanatomy as making a map of a city. Each street is a different kind of nerve, and each building is a part of the brain that does something special, like remembering things or moving your arms.

The Brain's Job

Your brain has many rooms, some help you see, others help you think, and still others make sure you can walk or talk. Each room is made up of different parts, just like how a toy car has wheels, a body, and a battery.

When something goes wrong with the wiring (your nerves) or the control center (your brain), it's like a robot that doesn't move right or can’t see, that’s when doctors use neuroanatomy to figure out what needs fixing!
