What is Perfect information?

Perfect information is when everyone knows everything that’s happening at the same time, no secrets, no surprises.

Imagine you and your friend are playing a game where you both pick a card from a deck. If it's perfect information, you can see each other’s cards right away. You know exactly what your friend has, so you can make the best choice possible. No need to guess or wonder, everything is clear and open.

Like Sharing Your Snack

Think of it like sharing your snack at lunchtime. If you have a cookie and you show it to your friend before you both decide who gets which piece, that’s perfect information. Both of you can see the whole cookie, so you can agree on how to split it fairly.

But if you hide the cookie under your hand and say, “I’ll tell you what I have after we pick,” then there's not perfect information, there's some mystery!

With perfect information, everyone is on the same page. No one has extra knowledge or hidden tricks, just clear choices and fair play.
