What is pink?

Pink is a color that happens when red and white mix together.

Colors are like flavors, you can mix them to make new ones. If you take red, which is strong and bold, and add some white, which is soft and gentle, you get pink.

Think of it like mixing juice. If you have a cup of red apple juice and pour in some white milk, the color gets lighter, that’s pink!

When light hits something pink, it reflects some of the red and some of the white back to your eyes. Your brain puts them together and says, “That’s pink!”

You can find pink everywhere, in flowers like roses, in candy, or even in your friend's favorite shirt! It’s a happy color that makes things look soft and sweet.
