What is Pope?

A pope is like the leader of a big club that people all over the world belong to, the Catholic Church.

Imagine you have a favorite game with your friends, and one day everyone agrees you'll be the person who makes the rules and helps decide what happens next. That’s kind of what a pope does, but for millions of people around the globe.

How It Works

The pope is chosen by other important members of the club, cardinals, who meet in a special place called the conclave. They vote until they find someone who can be a good leader and guide everyone.

Once the pope is chosen, he becomes the main voice for the whole club. He can help decide things like what to teach, when to celebrate, or even how to help people in need.

The pope also lives in a big house called the Vatican, which is like a palace with lots of rooms and gardens, a bit like your favorite place to play!

Sometimes, the pope travels around the world to visit other members of the club and share messages of love and hope.
