A problem-solver is someone who finds ways to make things work when something isn’t going as planned.
Imagine you're trying to build a tower with blocks, but one of the blocks keeps falling over. Instead of just letting it fall and giving up, a problem-solver would think, “Hmm, why is this block falling? Maybe I need to put it on a bigger block or move it closer to the middle.” Then they’d try those ideas out and see what works best.
Like a Detective in Your Everyday Life
A problem-solver acts like a detective, they look at clues and figure out what went wrong. If your favorite toy isn’t working, instead of just crying about it, a problem-solver might check if the batteries are in the right way or if something is stuck inside.
Sometimes, being a problem-solver means trying different things until you find the one that works, like testing out several flavors of ice cream until you find your favorite.
Examples
- A child figures out how to fix a broken toy by trying different pieces.
- A student solves a math problem using a method they learned earlier.
- Someone finds a new way to tie their shoes when the usual method doesn’t work.
