What is purple?

Purple is when red and blue mix together in just the right way.

Imagine you have a red crayon and a blue crayon. If you color with both at the same time on a piece of paper, the place where they meet becomes purple, like the color of grapes or the sky during sunset.

How it works

  • When you mix red and blue, you get purple.
  • Think of it like mixing juice. If you pour red apple juice into blue grape juice, the middle part looks purple.
  • Some things in real life are purple, like grapes, plums, or even some kinds of flowers.

Why it's special

Purple isn’t found in every rainbow, it’s hidden between red and blue. Sometimes, when you shine light through a prism, you can see purple hiding there too!

So next time you see something purple, remember: it's just red and blue having a little chat together!
