What is Radiant energy?

Radiant energy is light that travels through space and can warm things up or make them shine.

Imagine you're sitting outside on a sunny day, feeling the warmth from the sun, that’s radiant energy at work! The sun sends out light, which is like tiny messages traveling through the air (or even through space), and when those messages reach you, they give you a warm, happy feeling.

Think of radiant energy as tiny waves that move from one place to another. When the sun shines on your skin or on a flower, it’s like those tiny waves are jumping off the sun and landing on you, making you feel warm or helping the flower grow brighter.

You can also see this when you turn on a lamp in a dark room, the light from the lamp is radiant energy too! It travels through the air until it reaches your eyes, letting you see everything clearly.
