What is reflect?

What is reflect? It’s when something shows you what it sees, like a mirror.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy in front of a shiny spoon. You see the toy, and then you also see yourself, or at least, how you look, in the spoon. That's reflect in action! The spoon is acting like a small mirror, showing you what it sees.

A real mirror is the best example of something that reflects. When you stand in front of it, you see yourself because the mirror takes the light from your face and sends it back to your eyes, just like the spoon did with your toy.

You use reflect every day without thinking about it! When you look in a window or a lake, or even when you shine a flashlight on a wall and see the light come back, that’s reflect too.
