What is shrink?

Shrink is when something gets smaller because it’s squeezed or pressed.

Imagine you have a balloon full of air. If you press your hand on it, the balloon squishes and gets smaller, that's shrink in action! It’s like what happens to playdough when you push it down with your fingers. The playdough is still there, but it takes up less space.

When something shrinks, its size or shape changes because of pressure or force. Think about a sock that gets squished in the laundry machine, it looks smaller when you take it out, even though it’s still the same sock.

Sometimes, shrink happens slowly, like when bread dries out and becomes hard and small. Other times, it can happen quickly, like when you press down on a pillow and it flattens right away.

Shrink is just a way to describe how things get smaller, no magic needed, just pressure or time!
