Imagine you're holding a ball on a string and spinning around, the same side of the ball always faces you. The moon does something like this with Earth, so we only ever see one face. That's why we call it the 'dark side' even though it gets sunlight too, it just doesn’t get seen from our planet. Sometimes we can still see it through special space pictures.
Examples
- Imagine looking at a spinning ball, you only see one face of it.
- You can still see the dark side from space if you go there.
