What Is the Difference Between Wind and Weather?

Wind and weather are both things we feel outside, but they're not the same thing.

Wind is like when you stick your hand out the window of a moving car, you feel the air pushing against it. That push is wind. It’s just the air moving, sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

Weather is more like a whole story that happens in the sky. It includes things like rain, snow, clouds, and even the sun coming out. Wind can be part of the weather, but so are other cool things like thunder or a rainbow after it rains.

How They Work Together

Imagine you're playing with your toys outside. If the wind is blowing, it might make your paper airplane fly farther. But if it's also raining, that’s weather! The wind and rain work together to make a fun day outside.

So even though they’re different, wind and weather are like best friends who help tell the story of what happens in the sky every day.
