What is titanium?

Titanium is a strong and lightweight metal that’s used to make lots of cool things.

Imagine you have a toy car made of tin foil, it's light but easily gets bent or broken. Now think of titanium like a stronger version of that tin foil, but way tougher. It doesn’t bend or break as easily, even when it’s hit hard. That makes it great for things like airplane parts and bike frames.

If you touch titanium, it feels a bit like the metal in your spoon, smooth and solid, but it's not as heavy as the spoon. It’s kind of like a superhero version of regular metal: strong, light, and doesn’t get tired even after doing tough jobs all day.

You might find titanium in places you never expected! Some toothbrushes use it because it’s gentle on teeth. Some watches are made from it too, they’re fancy but also super strong.
