What is windy?

Windy is when air moves from one place to another, just like when you blow on a candle and it flickers.

Imagine you're outside on a sunny day, and all of a sudden, your hair starts flying around, that's wind! It happens because the air near the ground gets warm and rises up, while cooler air comes in from somewhere else to take its place. This movement is what makes things like leaves rustle, flags wave, or even helps airplanes fly.

How Windy Feels

If you've ever been on a bicycle and felt the breeze in your face, that's wind too! Sometimes it’s gentle, like when you're playing with a kite, and other times it's strong enough to make it hard to walk, just like when you're trying to run against a strong stream of water.

Wind is all around us, and it helps keep the air moving so we can breathe easier and enjoy the weather!
