What Makes Honey Eternal and Non-Spoilable?

Honey can last forever because it has superpowers that stop it from going bad, like how your backpack stays dry even if it rains all day.

When bees make honey, they use their tiny tongues to suck up nectar from flowers and then store it in the hive. But that's not all, they also add something special called beeswax, which acts like a cozy blanket around the honey. This blanket helps keep out moisture and bacteria, two of the main reasons why food goes bad.

Honey is also really thick and sugary, which means it doesn’t let water in easily. Think of it like a sponge that’s already full, there's no room for anything else to grow inside it. That makes it hard for germs or mold to start growing, so the honey stays just as sweet as when the bees made it.

Even if you leave honey on a shelf for hundreds of years, it can still be eaten, and sometimes even tastes better!
