Where is Belize and what is its history?

Belize is a small country in Central America that looks like a jewel tucked between two bigger countries.

Imagine you have a puzzle with four pieces: one is Mexico, another is Guatemala, and the third is Belize, the smallest piece of them all! The fourth piece is the Caribbean Sea, which is like a big blue bathtub that Belize dips its toes into.

A Little Bit About Its History

Long ago, before there were computers or even cars, people called Maya lived in Belize. They built cool stone houses and had secret messages written on paper made from trees!

Then came the Spanish, who wanted to take over Belize, it's like when a bigger kid tries to take your toy. But the Spanish couldn’t stay for long because of the hot sun and big bugs, so they left.

Later, some people from Britain came in and stayed. They made Belize their home, and that’s how Belize became a country with both old traditions and new friends, like having both a birthday cake and a pizza party on the same day!
