Who is Bering Land Bridge?

The Bering Land Bridge was like a giant walkway that connected two places when the water level was low enough to let people and animals cross.

Long ago, there was a time when the ocean between Asia and North America was very cold. So much ice formed that it lowered the sea level, exposing a big piece of land that we call the Bering Land Bridge. It was like stepping from one island to another, but much bigger!

Imagine you're playing with your toy boats in a bathtub. If you take out some water, the toys get closer together. That’s what happened with the Bering Land Bridge. When it got really cold and ice covered parts of the ocean, the sea level dropped enough for people, like early humans, and animals to walk across from Asia to North America.

This walkway helped people move and spread out, just like you might run from one side of the playground to the other. The Bering Land Bridge was a real-life path that changed how life looked on both sides of the ocean!
