Who is Claim Extraction?

Claim Extraction is when we take out the important parts from what someone says or writes.

Imagine you're playing a game of hide and seek, and your friend tells you: "I hid behind the couch in the living room because I wanted to surprise you!" Now, if you want to know where they hid, you might focus on "behind the couch in the living room", that’s the important part. The rest is just extra stuff.

Think of Claim Extraction like picking out your favorite candy from a bag full of different kinds. Someone writes or says something, it's like a big bag of candies. Claim Extraction is like you digging through that bag and taking out the ones you really want, which are the main points or facts.

You might ignore the extra words, like "because I wanted to surprise you!" if all you care about is where they hid. But sometimes, those extra parts help you understand why they did what they did, just like knowing why your friend picked that spot might make the game more fun!
