Germans are called different names in different languages because each language has its own favorite nickname for them.
Imagine you have a friend named Max. At school, your classmates call him "Maxie," but at home, your family calls him "Maksi." It's the same person, just with a different name depending on who’s talking.
How Languages Choose Their Nicknames
Each language has its own way of saying things. In French, people say Allemand for Germans, it sounds like “Allemagne” (France’s word for Germany). In Spanish, they say alemán, which is almost the same but with a little twist in how it's said.
In English, we say "German", that’s pretty straightforward. But in Italian, they say tedesco, maybe because of how they pronounce “Germany” or something they heard from their friends.
It’s like when you have different names for your favorite toy depending on who you're with, fun and normal!
