Like a Campfire on Steroids
Imagine you have a big campfire, but instead of just adding a few logs, you throw in a whole tree. That fire would burn much hotter and last longer. This is what’s happening with wildfires, forests are drier, so fires spread more easily and become bigger and stronger.
The Weather Plays a Part Too
Think about your favorite playground. When it's sunny, you can run forever. But when it gets really hot and there’s no rain for weeks, the grass is like crisp paper, it catches fire in no time! This is happening more often now because the weather patterns are changing.
So, just like your ice cream melting faster on a hotter day, wildfires are burning more often and harder because Earth is getting warmer and drier. It's like nature having a bigger, hotter campfire every year!
