Ghosts can appear in old photos because of strange light and chemicals. In the past, photos used special paper that reacted to light. If a person moved while the photo was being taken, it could look like they were floating or ghostly.
Examples
- A little girl in an old photo appears twice because she moved during the picture.
- A man in a 1902 photo looks like he has two faces because of the light.
- A ghostly figure can be seen in an early family portrait, but it’s just a shadow.
