Why It Feels Awkward
Your brain uses different parts when you speak and when you listen. If those parts aren’t working together smoothly, one person might start talking before the other has finished speaking, making things feel a little off-kilter.
Examples
- A group of kids playing a game where they all say things at once
- Two people talking in a restaurant but both start speaking before the other finishes
- A friend begins to talk, but you accidentally interrupt them mid-sentence
