Why Do Old Devices Slow Down?

The Candy Jar Analogy

Imagine your phone is a jar filled with candies. When it is new, the jar is full of big, sweet treats (fast apps). Over time, you eat the good ones and leave behind small bits or wrappers (storage space). Now, finding what you want takes longer.

More Apps, Less Room

Every app update makes the candy wrappers a bit bigger. Your phone has to work harder to open them. Also, your fingers might get a little slower at tapping because the buttons are smaller and crowded.

The Power Dip

Your phone runs on batteries like a toy car. A new battery gives strong power. An old battery is tired and runs out faster or struggles to give enough speed when you need it most.

Examples

  1. Eating all the good candies in a jar leaves only small crumbs.
  2. Taking a toy car with old batteries makes it crawl instead of zoom.
  3. Trying to find a book on a messy shelf takes longer than on an empty one.
