Paintings can last for centuries because they’re made with special kinds of paint and materials that don’t break down easily. But if you spill something like lemonade, which has acid in it, it can ruin a painting really fast, even if the painting is hundreds of years old. Imagine your favorite cookie staying fresh all year round, but then someone spills chocolate sauce on top of it, it’s not going to look good anymore.
Examples
- A painting from the Renaissance stays perfect for centuries, but one drop of lemonade can make it look like a disaster.
