Why Do People Say ‘Bite the Bullet’?

Bite the bullet is a way to say you're being brave when something hurts. A long time ago, soldiers would bite on a bullet while getting hurt without anesthesia, that’s how brave they were! Now we use it for any hard situation, like doing homework or eating something sour.
