Bite the bullet is a way to say you're being brave when something hurts. A long time ago, soldiers would bite on a bullet while getting hurt without anesthesia, that’s how brave they were! Now we use it for any hard situation, like doing homework or eating something sour.
Examples
- Bite the bullet when you have to eat a sour lemon without screaming.
- Bite the bullet if you decide to tell your teacher about the class prank.
- Bite the bullet by staying up late to finish your homework.
