Some countries have so few people because they're really, really big, like bigger than your whole town or even your state! If the land is hard to live on (like it's cold, hot, or full of mountains), not many people can move there. So the people are spread out over a huge area, making the country look almost empty.

- Canada's cold climate means not many people can live in its northern parts.
- Mongolia has a lot of open space with not many people living there.
