Why Do Some Countries Have So Many Laws?

Imagine you have a big toy box with 10,000 different toys, that's like having many laws in a country. Each law is like a rule for how people should behave. Some countries need so many rules because they’re big, or they want to take care of all kinds of problems, like fighting crime or keeping the roads safe. When someone breaks one of these rules, they might get a time-out, like getting fined or going to jail.
