Why Do We Use ‘Symbols’ in Different Languages?

Imagine you're playing a game with your friends, and instead of saying the words for things like ‘tree’ or ‘water,’ you draw little pictures. That’s kind of what symbols are, they help people understand each other even when they don’t all speak the same language.

Symbols make it easier to write and read, especially if a language has many sounds that are hard to spell out with letters alone. Like how some languages use symbols for whole ideas, like love or peace, instead of just one word.
