Why does contrast remain central?

Contrast helps us see things clearly, just like how shadows help us notice shapes on a sunny day.

Imagine you're coloring a picture. If all your colors are similar, like using light blue for the sky and very pale blue for the clouds, it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. But if you use white for the clouds and dark blue for the sky, contrast makes everything pop! That's bold difference between things that helps us notice them.

Why It Matters Everywhere

Think about your favorite shirt. If it has a pattern, like stripes, some are black and some are white, those contrasts make the stripes easy to see. Without contrast, they’d look blurry or run together.

Even when you're reading this, contrast helps! The dark letters on the light background help you read better than if both were the same color.

So whether it’s in art, clothes, or books, contrast is like a friendly helper that says, “Look at me!” and makes everything clearer.
