How Colors Work

Colors come from light. When light hits something, it can reflect, absorb, or pass through it.

Think of a yellow flower: it absorbs all the colors except yellow, and sends that back to your eyes. That’s why you see yellow.

But for blue to appear, something has to do a trick, absorb most of the light, but let blue escape. That's not easy! Most things in nature don't do that trick very well.
