Why Is Space Black?

Imagine you're in a room with only one small lamp. The rest of the room is dark because the light can't reach all the corners. Space works like that, it's big and empty, so most of the light from stars doesn’t reach us, making it look black. Stars are far away, and there aren’t enough of them to make space bright.
