Some people turn to religion because it helps them understand life and find comfort when things feel uncertain.
Imagine you're playing a game with friends, but no one tells you the rules. You might get confused or even upset if you don’t know what’s fair. Religion is like having someone explain the rules of the game, and also giving you a friendly cheerleader who says, “You’ve got this!”
Religion can give people answers to big questions, like why things happen or what happens after we grow up. It’s like having a map when you’re lost in a forest. Some people feel safe with that map and keep using it.
Why some don’t turn to religion
Other kids might not need the map, they might already know their way around, or they might enjoy exploring without one. They could be more interested in figuring things out on their own, like solving puzzles or making new friends.
Sometimes, people who grow up with a certain religion might still decide it’s not for them, just like how someone who loves chocolate might try vanilla ice cream and think it’s better.
Everyone has different needs and ways of feeling happy or safe. That’s okay!
